Healthcare

For leaders of physician groups, specialty and dental practices, behavioral health, home health and medical technology companies. Your clinicians are buried in administrative work and your front office is short-staffed. We find the AI that gives them time back, with patient information handled carefully.

AI Adoption Check

How would you rate your company's AI adoption?

Two quick questions, then a short conversation with our AI assistant. No sign-up needed.

What we hear from healthcare leaders

  • Clinicians are doing clerical work

Charting, inbox messages and forms run into the evening. Burnout shows up as turnover, and every departure leaves a schedule to fill.

  • The front office can't keep up

Phones, faxes, referrals, eligibility checks and prior authorizations pile up behind a few people. Patients wait on hold, and denied claims get worked late or not at all.

  • Every vendor now sells AI

Your EHR, your billing service and a stream of startups all pitch AI, and each one raises an AI security question about where patient data goes. You need someone without a product to sell to say which ones fit.

Where AI pays off first

  • Referral and fax intake

An agent reads incoming referrals and faxed records, pulls out patient, payer and reason for visit, and queues them in your EHR's work list for staff to confirm. What to track: days from referral to scheduled visit.

Custom Integrations: Referral and fax intake
  • Prior authorization packets

The request drafted from the chart against the payer's criteria, so staff review and submit instead of starting from scratch. What to track: staff time per request.

    AI Agents: Prior authorization packets
  • Denial follow-up

Denials sorted by reason, appeal letters drafted from the record, and recurring causes flagged back to registration and coding. Your billing team decides what goes out. What to track: days from denial to appeal.

    Workflow Automation: Denial follow-up
  • Patient calls and messages

Scheduling, directions and billing questions answered; clinical questions routed to a nurse with the message summarized. The AI answers nothing clinical. What to track: hold times and callbacks.

Customer Support Automation: Patient calls and messages
  • Ambient documentation: buy, don't build

AI scribe tools are a crowded market. We help you test them against your specialty and your EHR, and roll out the one that fits. What to track: charting time after hours.

AI Audits & Quality Reviews: Ambient documentation: buy, don't build

What's different about healthcare

  • HIPAA and patient information

A vendor that handles protected health information for you needs a business associate agreement, and a task should use only the minimum information it needs. We draw the data flow for each build so your privacy officer can review it before anything goes live, and the compliance call stays with them.

  • Clinical judgment stays with clinicians

First builds stay on the administrative side. Where AI drafts anything clinical, a licensed person reviews and signs it. Software that informs diagnosis or treatment can fall under FDA oversight, so we flag that question early.

  • The EHR is the system of record

Staff live in the EHR and practice management system. We work through their supported interfaces and work queues, not another screen to watch.

How we'd start

  1. Interview leadership, your privacy officer and practice managers first.

  2. Map the daily work of front desk, referral, billing and clinical support roles.

  3. Review your EHR, practice management and billing systems, and where patient information flows.

  4. Rank every opportunity and start with an administrative build your privacy officer has reviewed.

FAQ

Common questions

Will patient data go to an AI company?

Only where a build needs it, under a business associate agreement, and only what the task requires. Some useful builds need no patient information at all.

Should we wait for our EHR vendor's AI features?

Sometimes, yes. If your vendor's roadmap covers a need, the Assessment says so, and we focus on the work it won't cover.

How do we get busy staff to use it?

Put it in the screens they already use and start with the task they like least. Our partner leads AI adoption, training and change management, so each team learns the tool on its own work before go-live.

Do you work with medical technology companies?

Yes. We advise a medical technology company's leadership on AI every month. You can read about our current engagements on our Work page.
